Christmas Came Early This Year

I’ve been keeping an eye on the new Nikon D7000 ever since its rumor surfaced months ago. It was said to have an outstanding ISO performance with improved video recording quality; along with other jazz that makes it so darn exciting. I’ve finally gotten my hands on one early this week and I’m eager to put it to the test.
My new toy for Christmas. I’ll be keeping the empty box under the tree. The camera is just too good to wait till Christmas.
This post is going to be a simple and short review on Nikon D7000. I am currently using Nikon D80 and Nikon D700, so the review and tests conducted will be compared between these 2 cameras. This is only my first impression and it is not a lab test, so don’t expect any technical details here. I’ll be talking about the features I like, its image quality (ISO specifically) and video.
It felt pretty close to my existing D80 when I first held the D7000. It’s a little larger and a little sturdier, but it still feels like plastic; although it’s body is constructed out of magnesium alloy. I am definitely investing on a battery pack because my hands are large and it gets really uncomfortable holding the camera for hours. D7000 also uses a new type of battery, so I have to purchase a few more cause I can’t use my existing batteries that goes with my D700 and D80.
D7000 comes with a drive mode dial
